نیکولاس آبرکرامبی

نیکلاس ابرکرومبی (زاده ۱۹۴۴) جامعه‌شناس بریتانیایی و استاد دانشگاه بازنشسته است. او از سال 1990 تا 2004 استاد جامعه شناسی دانشگاه لنکستر بود.  او در کالج کوئینز آکسفورد تحصیل کرد و در سال 1966 با مدرک کارشناسی فارغ التحصیل شد. سپس در سال 1968 مدرک کارشناسی ارشد خود را در دانشکده اقتصاد لندن به پایان رساند. ابرکرومبی از سال 1968 تا 1970 به عنوان یک افسر تحقیقاتی در برنامه ریزی شهری در دانشگاه کالج لندن کار کرد، هم‌زمان در سمت مدرس به دانشگاه لنکستر پیوست. سپس در آنجا به تحصیل در مقطع دکترا پرداخت و در سال 1980 موفق به اخذ مدرک دکترا شد. در سال 1983 به درجه استادی ارتقا یافت و در سال 1988 به عنوان محقق در رشته جامعه شناسی مشغول به کار شد. در سال 1990، او به عنوان استاد جامعه شناسی در لنکستر منصوب شد و در سال 1995 به سمت معاونت پروفسور منصوب و در سال 2004 بازنشسته شد.
